Meditation 101 with Allyson Pimentel, Ed.D.
Curious about meditation? This session introduces participants to a sampling of easily accessible meditation and relaxation practices to promote a sense of “calm within the storm.” Modern scientific research is now confirming what yogis and sages have known for millennia: meditation not only reduces stress and promotes relaxation, it also reshapes the brain for the better, leading to improved attention, concentration, and memory. Participants in this workshop will learn several meditation techniques designed to increase a sense well-being and ease in the face of life’s challenges. The session will include the experiential practice of meditation, some mindful movement, and an opportunity for discussion. All are welcome!
Foundations of Yoga with Emilia Conradson
People with all levels of yoga experience will benefit from this two-hour workshop. Beginners will be introduced to a wide variety of physical poses, asanas, and get a general overview of the practice, including how to maintain safe alignment and use breath to connect mind with body. Students with more experience who want to deepen their practice, will have options and guidance to master more challenging asanas as they explore the energetic and spiritual benefits of yoga. The goal for all participants is to build confidence in their ability to have a home practice and to deepen their understanding of yoga as a moving meditation.
Note: Emilia is also available for private and semi-private sessions at Generations. Private sessions are $115. Add $35 for each additional student in a semi-private class.
